Time at the cabin

We have been gone most of this month. We tried to get to the cabin on Sunday July 6th but it was seriously raining. We went to visit Grandma Vilda instead. We had a good visit and we stayed in Motel 6 which is cheap and also allows dogs. A good place to stay if you want to visit Grandma Vilda. We drove to the cabin on Monday and we had a great time with Bekkie, Trevor, Gavin, Christina, Sabre, James and Grandma (Me). We first had a good look around. The Lake was very full, the frogs were big and numerous and we found some sweet mares and their colts at the lower lake. Grandma cleaned the cabin top to bottow for two days. The boys spent their time at the lake catching everything and the girls were down with the horses the whole time we were at the cabins. It is a wonderful time. Katie and Josh joined us on Friday and Carrie came for a visit on Saturday night. Sunday Bekkie, Katie, Josh and James went home, but we stayed for a few more days.

If you are planning a trip to the cabin there are a few things you should know. We talked to Amerigas and found out the gauge on the propane tank is a pressure gauge. We have no way of knowing how much gas we have left, but we are prepared to switch over to smaller tanks when it runs out. If the gas runs out while you are there you will need to go to Amerigas(1-435-586-6731 call for directions) and get the connection and install a small propane tank. Hopefully we won't need to worry about it for a bit. The propane regulator is new and the system seems to be fine. Most lights are fine to turn on but the one above the sink in the kitchen and the one in the bathroom are both broken so use other lights in those two places. Let us know if you have trouble. One small propane gas tank will easily be enough for a few days-even using the oven.

The water key is in the hot water heater closet. As Grandma Vilda has said many times turn it counterclockwise ONE FOURTH OF A TURN. you will hear the water. It leaks, as they all do. I hope that when we are up there the end of September that your dad and I can fix it. Gary fixed the one leaky faucet early this year. Thanks Gary. The water and water heater work fine. If you need to turn on the water heater please follow the directions that are on the water heater. It is very easy if you use those long lighters.

There is plenty of towels in the bathroom. There is one change of beddingfor each bed in the cupboard in the bedroom and sleeping bags in the loft. I have more linen clean and ready if you want to get it from me before you go up.

If you need to make a phone call there is a spot that cell phone work just about 10-15 feet into Deer Haven Campground at that intersection as you turn to head down to the cabin. Just pull straight in instead of turning. I have noticed cars just sitting there and wondered what was going on.

We have some wonderful family that is up there. I hope you get a chance to see them. We saw a lot of Ty (Mac's oldest son) and Danny (another son) and their families this time. Natalie (Ty's daughter) spends lots of time up there in the old cabin on Mac's land. We have some neighbors that are not family. Please be respectful and kind to all neighbors.

Please feel free to use the cabin. Let me know if you need a key. Please remember your keys-I keep forgetting mine. I have many copies of cabin keys and I can't remember mine. Let me know when you are going up there. Tyler and Katie are going August 7 for a few days. Carrie and her family are going over Labor Day holiday.
