Summer Ends

To begin our summer, Sabre and Carrie came for James' Mission Farewell. It was an important time for our family. We were glad to have family and friends visit. After James left for the MTC we did our visiting with Sabre. The highpoint of her visit had to be our annual campout at Willard Bay. This year was different because Sabre and Christina put up the tent and made camp by themselves.

After Sabre's visit, Bekkie, Joey, Trevor and Gavin came for a visit from Oklahoma. We had a celebration for Trevor's birthday that Saturday Pizza night. The next day we went to church and on Monday we left for the cabins for two weeks. After the cabins we did lots of fun things with the grandchildren. Chantelle took the kids swimming, camping, rodeoing and to Freedom Riders. Katie took them to Farmers Market and the zoo. Stacy and Allan met us for the Drive in movie. We just had so much fun with pizza nights. But all good things come to an end. Trevor and Gavin went home. The carefree days of summer are gone and now we are preparing for a new school year. Thanks to all of you that made it a wonderful summer!

Swimming and Willard's Bay

At Willard's Bay we swam the whole afternoon. It is a wonderful place to camp because the tree-shaded picnic table, fire pit, grill and camping is right on the shore. Grandpa grilled our dinner while the children swam. We had to rescue our food from the squirrels and birds. When it got dark we had hamburgers and put up our tent. Jeremy made our campfire. The kids roasted marshmellows and had a wonderful campout with Jeremy and Chantelle in the tent.

All of us had so much fun swimming the last two weeks of July. We swam three times at Grandma and Grandpa Joos' pool. We also swam at Aunt Darlene's pool twice. I think the Grandchildren turned into little fish. They all swimmed for 2-3 hours at a time. They wouldn't get out for food or rest, but when they got home they were starving and tired. Wyatt and Paxton took swimming lessons and had many things to show Grandma.

Drive In Movie and Ogden Rodeo

On July 19, we went to see the movies. We saw two Disney movies, the Sorceror's Apprentist and Toy Story 3. We had so much fun, but I did not get pictures. The next night we met Chantelle and Jeremy with the grandchildren and we got to see the Rodeo. Talk about a fun time and late nights!

The Family at the Cabins 2010

When Wyatt first saw the mountain and cabin he said, "It is so beautiful here I think God used to live here a long time ago." Kysa and Wyatt were great campers. We went on the hike around the cabins. Wyatt went with Grandma all around Aspen Lake. He took good care of Grandma.

Trevor, Gavin, Paxton and Joey are hiking down the trail to the lower lake.

Grandma, Christina, Trevor, Gavin, Paxton and Wyatt went early to clean the cabin. We also stayed and closed the cabin. We were there for two weeks.

Gavin, Bekkie, Asher (dog), Christina, Paxton, and Trevor do the water hike.

O'Neal Family Visit and We Celebrate Trevor's Birthday

Christina's 14th Birthday

Grandma's helpers frost the cake. Caught red-handed Josh and Kysa.
It was a good brownie and ice cream cake. Yummy! Christina is growing up so fast!!

James' Mission Farewell

James was called to the Bues Aries Argentina South Mission. His farewell was Sunday, May 30. Carrie and Sabre flew in for the weekend together. James had many friends that also came from all over to say goodbye. James has loved his time at the MTC in Provo. He is excited to leave tomorrow, August 2 for Argentina. God be with you, James. We love you.

Grandma Vilda Ronnow

The best part of Christmas this year was a book that Grandma Vilda wrote about her life. She gave it to each of her children. We have all read it and been amazed at her and her life. It is an inspiring book about a real courageous and talented lady.
This is a picture of Grandma Vilda taken at Chantelle's wedding.

Reception for Chantelle and Jeremy

Chantelle and Jeremy had a reception at Weber State alumni center a day after their wedding. It was a real family and friend celebration with lots of help from both. It was truly a beautiful night.
